CODE OF ETHICS |

| In
keeping with my dedication to further the improvement of the Abyssinian cat, I herewith
pledge to uphold the ideals of Abyssinian Breeders International. I will maintain the best possible standards of health and care in my cattery. I will maintain only that number of cats which can be properly cared for and protected from illness and stress-related problems. All of my cats will be tested at recommended intervals for Feline Leukemia and a complete program of immunization will be kept up to date on all cats within my cattery. My motivation for breeding will be the improvement of the breed. I will sell cats to be used for breeding only to buyers who in my opinion will use the cat in a responsible and ethical manner. I will never sell to wholesalers or retailers, nor will I sell to any buyer, if for any reason I believe the kitten or cat will not be properly cared for. I agree to use for breeding only the highest quality cats obtainable to me. These cats shall be in good health and exhibit sound temperament. I will sell for purposes of breeding, only females of good quality to buyers who will use them in accordance with this code of ethics. I will sell for purposes of breeding, only males of good quality to buyers who will use them in accordance with this code of ethics. I will reach a clear understanding with clients, both written and oral, regarding the details of kitten/cat sales and stud service. It will be my responsibility to require a neuter/spay agreement for all kittens or cats sold which have hereditary or show disqualifying faults; or kittens or cats sold as pets only and who will never be used for breeding. Registration application boxes will be checked in "THIS CAT MAY NOT BE USED FOR BREEDING" portion and given at time of sale, or forwarded upon receipt of a veterinarian's certification Th the surgery has been performed. I will make every effort to contact my pet kitten/cat owners to see that the neuter/spay agreement has been complied with. I will, under certain circumstances, allow a buyer to return a kitten or cat and will have those condition known to the buyer at the time of thew sale. Should the original purchaser not be able to keep the cat, at any age, I agree to help place the cat in a new home. I will keep and pass on to buyers, of kittens or cats, accurate health, breeding, registration, and pedigree records. I will strive to help a prospective new owner, who wishes to buy a show cat, to secure the very best potential show kitten/cat available. I will make my self available to the novice breeder or owner for advice and guidance. |
